Wamuzi

Privacy Policy

Last updated: [EFFECTIVE DATE]

This policy explains what information the Wamuzi apps (Wamuzi Second Memory, Wamuzi Verify, Wamuzi Jot and Wamuzi Wayfinder) and the website wamuzi.com collect, and what we do with it.

The short version: Wamuzi knows almost nothing about you. The apps work without accounts. Speech and AI run on your phone. Your recordings, reminders and records stay on your phone. We don’t show ads, we don’t use advertising or analytics trackers, and we never sell or share your information for marketing.

1. Who we are

Wamuzi LLC, [REGISTERED ADDRESS], United States, is responsible for the information described in this policy. To contact us about privacy, use the contact form at wamuzi.com/contact.

2. How the apps are built

3. What each app collects

Wamuzi Second Memory

Stays only on your phone: your voice recordings, reminder times, any text the app makes from your recordings, your repeat settings, and the language you chose.

Reaches us or our providers:

Permissions: the microphone, to record reminders; notifications and alarms, to play them on time. Recordings are made only when you press record.

After the model download, Second Memory works without an internet connection.

Wamuzi Verify

Stays only on your phone: the codes you issue (shown masked), your notes and the app’s history of your transactions.

Reaches our server:

When someone verifies a code at wamuzi.com/verify, we receive the transaction ID and the code they enter, the result, the time and standard connection details. We don’t ask the verifier who they are.

Restore key. To let you move paid codes to a new phone, the app stores a private restore key in your own Google account (Google Block Store) or Apple account (iCloud Keychain). We can’t read your Google or Apple account, and we don’t learn who you are from it.

Purchases. When you buy codes through Google Play, Google tells us the order ID, the product and whether payment succeeded, so the app can add your codes. Google doesn’t give us your name or card details.

Verify with report (later). This tier will need an account, and will collect the sign-in you choose, your firm name and logo if you add them, and the records needed to produce reports. We will update this policy before it launches.

Wamuzi Jot

Stays only on your phone: your income and expense records, recordings made to create them, and any exports or backups you make.

Reaches us or our providers: the one-time model download (as described for Second Memory), and your email address if you sign up for Wamuzi news.

Jot does not currently collect statistics. If we add optional anonymous statistics, they will be off unless you switch them on, will never be linked to you, and we will update this policy first.

Wamuzi Wayfinder

Stays only on your phone: your location while you are being guided, and any parking spot you save.

Reaches us or our providers: the request to download a venue’s floor plans, with standard connection details. For venues that use Wayfinder, the name and work contact details of the venue’s staff who manage its account.

We don’t send visitors’ identities or locations to venues. Any usage figures we share with a venue are totals only.

wamuzi.com

The website does not use advertising or analytics cookies.

4. Why we use information

We use the limited information above only to:

Where the law requires a legal basis (for example in the European Economic Area and the UK), we rely on: providing the service you asked for (contract); our legitimate interests in running and securing our services; your consent, for Wamuzi news; and legal obligations.

5. Wamuzi news emails

Second Memory and Jot offer an optional sign-up for news about Wamuzi. Verify and Wayfinder never ask for your email address. If you sign up, we keep your email address in our email service (Zoho Campaigns), separately from anything in the apps. It isn’t linked to your app use. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and we delete your address when you unsubscribe.

6. Service providers

We use a small number of providers who process information for us under contract:

Provider What for
Hostinger Hosting wamuzi.com, the Verify server and app downloads
Zoho The contact form, our email inbox, and Wamuzi news (Zoho Campaigns)
Google Google Play purchases and app distribution, Google Block Store (restore key), and Firebase Cloud Messaging (Verify notifications)
Apple (when iPhone apps launch) App Store purchases and distribution, iCloud Keychain (restore key) and Apple Push Notification service
[MODEL HOSTING SERVICE] Hosting AI model files for download, if not served from wamuzi.com

If you choose to back up or export your own data to a service such as Google Drive, that copy is held by that service under its own terms, and Wamuzi can’t see it.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect people’s safety or our rights, or as part of a sale or merger of Wamuzi LLC or an app, in which case this policy continues to apply.

7. How long we keep information

Information Kept for
Verify transaction records (ID, results and times) 1 year from the transaction, then deleted
Verify codes on our server Until verified, cancelled or locked
Verify records of cancelled transactions (ID, status and time, no code) 1 year
Contact form messages Until handled, then up to 2 years
Wamuzi news email addresses Until you unsubscribe
Website and server logs Up to [90 days]

Everything stored on your phone stays until you delete it or the app, except Second Memory’s one-time reminders, which delete themselves after they play.

8. Requests from authorities

If we receive a valid legal request, we can provide only what we hold: for Verify, that a code was issued for a transaction ID, whether and when it was verified, cancelled or changed, and related connection details. For Verify codes without report, we hold nothing that identifies who issued, received or entered a code.

9. Security

The Verify server uses encrypted connections (HTTPS), and codes are stored in protected form. Access to our systems is restricted. Because most of your information never leaves your phone, the best protection for it is your phone’s own screen lock, and Verify’s app lock (fingerprint, face or PIN).

10. Children

The apps are not directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask us to access, correct, delete or send you a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict how we use it, or to withdraw consent. This includes rights under the EU and UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act and other US state privacy laws, and India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act.

To make a request, use the contact form at wamuzi.com/contact. We will respond within the time the law requires and won’t treat you differently for using your rights. Because we don’t hold accounts, we may ask for details, such as a Verify transaction ID or the email address you signed up with, to find the information. Information stored only on your phone can be viewed and deleted by you in the app.

If you are in the EEA or UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.

12. International transfers

Wamuzi is based in the United States, and our servers are in the United States. If you use our services from elsewhere, the limited information we receive is transferred to the United States. Where the law requires it, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

13. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If a change is material, we will tell you in the app or on wamuzi.com before it takes effect.
